When I launched Muslimah Thrives, my goal was simple: to empower Muslim women with authentic, effective content that connects, and converts.
But I had one article on my site, just one.
And yet… that article ranked on Google’s first page in 3 months.
No ads. No complicated tech stack. No paid backlinks.
But Wait, Isn’t SEO Dead?
There’s a lot of noise out there claiming “SEO is dead.”
Some say AI has taken over search. Others say TikTok is the new Google.
Here’s the truth:
SEO is not dead, it’s evolving.
People still turn to Google every single day to find answers, products, services, and inspiration.
Especially Muslim women entrepreneurs looking for halal solutions, Muslim service providers, and faith-aligned content.
What’s changed is how SEO works.
You can’t trick the algorithm with keyword stuffing anymore. You have to offer value.
You have to write with purpose.
And when you do, when you combine strategic keywords with sincere, high-quality writing, Google rewards you.
So no, SEO isn’t dead. It’s just evolved, as just throwing a bunch of keywords and links no longer works. And when you’re a Muslim SEO writer writing from the heart, you’re not chasing trends. You’re building something that lasts.
So how did I do it?
Here’s the honest, actionable breakdown—with all the tools, mindset, and spiritual barakah that made it happen.
1. I Started with Solid Keyword Research
Before writing a single word, I turned to my go-to SEO tools: Ahrefs and SEMrush.
My goal? Find low-competition, high-search-volume keywords that aligned with what Muslim women entrepreneurs were already searching for.
Instead of chasing trendy, hard-to-rank terms, I focused on:
- Audience pain points
- Business-relevant phrases
- Niche-specific Muslim keywords
This helped me discover keywords like Muslim content writer, SEO for Muslim businesses, and writing for Muslim businesses—terms that reflected both what I offer and who I serve.
2. I Wrote for Humans, Not Just Algorithms
Google’s algorithm may be powerful, but your audience is even more powerful.
I didn’t write my blog just to rank. I wrote to connect.
To educate.
To offer real value.
So, I:
- Researched the topic thoroughly
- Answered my audience’s questions directly
- Formatted the post with clear H2s, bullet points, and visual flow
- Added links to other relevant blog posts and resources
(like this content strategy checklist for Muslim businesses I created)
This way, readers didn’t just land on my site—they stayed.
3. I Checked SEO Health with Frase.ai
Once the content felt complete, I ran it through Frase.ai to check for:
- SEO score
- Keyword density
- Readability
- Content gaps compared to top-ranking competitors
I made small but meaningful edits to hit all the right on-page SEO notes—without losing my natural, sisterly tone.
4. I Added Strategic Backlinks
Backlinks are like referrals on the internet—they tell Google your content is trustworthy.
So I:
- Included links to credible external tools (like Ahrefs and Frase)
- Linked internally to other parts of my site
No spammy backlinks. Just genuine connections that made sense.
5. I Wrote With Impact in Mind
This part matters more than any tool or trend.
I didn’t write from a place of desperation. I wrote from a place of service.
I made sincere du’a before writing.
I set the intention for the content to benefit the people reading it.
And I reminded myself:
The Prophet (ﷺ)said, “Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward like one who did it.“
(Sahih Muslim 1893)
When you’re writing for the sake of Allah, and helping others, It’s not just strategy, it’s niyyah.
The Takeaway for Muslim-Owned Businesses
If you’re a Muslim business owner wondering how to get your content found online, you don’t need a thousand posts or a huge marketing budget.
What you do need is:
- Clarity on who you’re serving
- Strategic keyword planning
- Authentically written content
- The right tools to support your process
- Trust in Allah’s barakah
